Wisconsin Bipartisanship: Governor Evers wants to pour beers for the GOP until 4AM!

Updated: Apr 2, 2023

#BeerHere til 4:00AM for 2024 GOP Convention goers if Governor Tony Evers gets his way!

Reports have surfaced that former Governor Tommy Thompson is expected to endorse the bar time extension even though no one actually bothered to ask him for comment. Because I mean c’mon. We know Tommy is down!

Though certainly commonplace to let the party last a little longer when big events come to town, let’s not think for one second that the Wisconsin Tavern League, Restaurant Association and other lobbying entities aren’t fully engaged in making this happen.

That said, it is pretty clear that what is good for the goose should be good for the gander as long as proper security levels and public transit options are in place.

At the very least there’s gonna be 2 hours of extra tips for the greater Milwaukee area service industry workers!

So in this case “the gander” is the entire tourism and hospitality industry.

In Wisconsin we know how to make hay while the sun shines… and how to pour beer after the sun goes down!

Quoting from @wis.business:

“Evers included a provision in his budget similar to the 2020 bill. It would allow municipalities to extend bar time to 4 a.m. between July 15, 2024, a Monday, and July 19, 2024, the following Friday. It would apply to 14 counties: Kenosha, Racine, Walworth, Rock, Milwaukee, Waukesha, Jefferson, Dane, Ozaukee, Washington, Dodge, Columbia, Sheboygan and Fond du Lac.”

Pretty safe to say that “We the people” of Wisconsin approve!

Nice pigtails, Governor Evers!
