Senator Ron Johnson job approval underwater per latest Marquette Law Poll

The latest @marquetteu Law School Poll shows Senator Ron Johnson’s approval rating is underwater meaning his disapproval rating is higher than his approval rating.

In the latest Marquette Law Poll released this month (June 2022), @senronjohnson has an approval rating of 37% and a disapproval rating of 46% leaving Sen. Johnson 9 points underwater. Another 16% said they either “Hadn’t heard enough” or “Didn’t know” when polled.

Up for re-election this November with a motivated and well funded Democratic Primary field vying to challenge him, the high disapproval rating is concerning for Sen. Johnson. Generally, underwater approval ratings indicate that an incumbent is vulnerable for electoral defeat. That said, Sen. Johnson has never had a particularly high approval rating since 2013, yet he was still re-elected in 2016 against the well known and relatively popular former Senator Russ Feingold.
