Millions of Americans reminded Supreme Court is a thing, does stuff

Yet another reminder that millions of Americans have no idea how government works. They are keenly aware of when they are no longer getting their way, but they still wind up largely re-electing the same politicians with whom they are constantly dissatisfied.

Many Wisconsinites are concerned about how the recent reversal of Roe v. Wade will impact them and those they care about. Others have advocated for this reversal for years and are thrilled that the time has finally come.

Regardless of where you stand on this issue, this is a great reminder that morality and governance require constant nurturing and effort.

There are seldom policy initiatives that once enacted can be trusted to exist on autopilot in perpetuity.

Elections have consequences. Every two years we consider new politicians to oversee our laws and every election shifts our future.

As for abortion, it is time for people to try to change or support laws at the state level. Different states will reach different conclusions on different timelines. Over time we will have 50 states to analyze to see who is getting the best results.

Maybe the political pendulum will swing back or maybe we will find a new balance that a broader majority can make peace with.

Remaining primaries and the November General Election will be the next chapter in the abortion debate. The first cycle in a “post Roe” world.

Will voters make abortion a leading general election issue or will it just be a litmus test in primaries.
