As a fourth candidate enters the Republican Primary for Governor, former Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker endorses Rebecca Kleefisch who served as Lieutenant Governor during his administration.
Walker remains popular among likely GOP Primary voters in the state. The endorsement could help steer undecided donors and grassroots supporters towards Kleefisch.
In addition to Kleefisch, Kevin Nicholson is the other clear frontrunner, followed by new entrant State Rep. Timothy Ramthun, and relative political newcomer Jonathan Wichmann.
Walker’s statement endorsing Kleefisch:
“Rebecca Kleefisch ran against the Capitol insider’s pick and won. Then she became part of
the most conservative administration in
America from 2011-2019. Now, she’s ready to open our schools, clean up our streets, and get Wisconsin back to work again.”
Walker currently serves as President of Young America’s Foundation (YAF), a group that aims to educate young adults, particularly on college campuses, about conservative and traditional values. YAF has campus chapters at Marquette University and the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
